Book Review: Hello, Mommy

                      "Hello, Mommy" by Tina Stickles

Rating: 5 Stars

Genre: Christian Thriller

The best stories to read are the ones that pull you in and take you on an adventure that you can't leave until you finish it. This book did all that and more. What starts out as a calm, innocent story of a single mom and two rebellious teenage boys becomes a gripping adventure of good vs evil, and bad decisions leading to deadly encounters.

What I loved:

The characters are brought to life, and you feel their struggles as if they were your own. My heart went out to Cassie, Steven, and Chris as they struggled to fight against evil. This book is a real, detailed, and gripping illustration of Ephesians 6:12, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

Special notes:

This is an adult thriller, and comes with the elements one would probably expect in this genre. There are scenes that illustrate detailed, evil cult rituals, animal sacrifices, and talk of human sacrifice. There is an attempted murder scene, and several threats. The description is not gory, but it is there.

Also, drugs and alcohol are frequently used.

To be honest, this is the first thriller I have read, and I didn't know what to expect. I ended up enjoying it and being touched by how beautifully it was told, and how the grace, forgiveness, and protection of God was shown.

If it is a genre you enjoy, then you will definitely love this book. Tina Stickles did a fantastic job writing this book. Five stars!
